Seasons book early.
Most of next season's rooms are already booked by guests who came last year, and the year before. We try to keep a few weeks open each season for new anglers — tell us what you're hoping for and we'll let you know what's left.
Multi-day packages include lodging, meals, guide, boat, fuel, tackle, and bait. Pricing depends on group size, dates, and package length — we send a written quote with every inquiry.
Returning guests — don't use the form. Call the lodge and we'll pick up.

Common questions
A few things to know.
What's included in a multi-day package?
Lodging, meals, guide, boat, fuel, tackle, bait, and cleaning of your catch. We also handle ground transport between the airstrip and the lodge. You bring rain gear and a fishing license — we'll send a kit list once dates are set.
What does a trip cost?
Pricing depends on group size, dates, and package length. We send a written quote with every inquiry reply — usually within a day.
How do you get to Gustavus?
Most guests connect through Juneau. During peak summer, Alaska Airlines runs direct service to Gustavus (GST). Outside of that, regional service runs daily on Alaska Seaplanes — call (907) 789-3331 or book online for a better rate. Confirm current fares with the carrier.
We pick guests up at the airstrip. Most arrive in the afternoon and fish the next morning.
When should we come?
Halibut grounds fish from mid-May through early September. King salmon peak in late June and early July; silvers from mid-July into August. River fishing runs mid-August through mid-September. First-time guests tend to book five-day windows in July; repeat guests often pick the second week of June or the last week of August.
What about weather and what to bring?
Southeast Alaska is cool, often overcast, often beautiful. Plan for layers and reliable rain gear. We provide rubber boots, foul-weather bibs, and tackle. A full kit list goes out once your dates are confirmed.
Fitness requirements?
Halibut fishing involves heavy lifting — fish in the 40–100 pound range are routine. We help, but if you're managing a back injury or recent surgery, tell us in your inquiry and we'll talk through the day.
Before you arrive
A few practical notes.
The shape of a fishing day, getting in and out of Gustavus, what to pack and what to leave home. Two guides, both downloadable as PDFs — or read them on the before you arrive page.
